An international footballer who dressed up as a suicide bomber for a fancy dress party has been described as “thoughtless” by a survivor of the July 7 bombings in London.

Bereaved families and survivors of the 7/7 attacks have withdrawn a legal attempt to force the Government to hold an independent inquiry into the atrocity.

Families of July 7, 2005 bombing victims in the UK have been told they may have been targeted by phone hackers as MPs prepare to debate the scandal.

Inquests into the deaths of the 52 innocent people killed in the 7/7 bombings will begin today.
