GARDAÍ did their best to dissuade a man from jumping to his death just hours after his partner was brutally slain, indications from an independent investigation suggest.

THE coastguard and Ballybunion Sea and Cliff Rescue yesterday continued their search for the body of a 33-year-old man who jumped to his death from the cliffs at the north Kerry seaside resort on Tuesday night.

FRIENDS of the couple involved in the country’s latest murder-suicide reacted with disbelief at the tragedy.
