The Pakistani politician who put a bounty on the anti-Islam filmmaker’s head has impressed the country’s Taliban militants so much that they are taking him off their hit list.

An actress suing the producer of an anti-Islam movie that has spawned violent protests across the Muslim world plans to drop her lawsuit and file a new case in federal court over copyright claims, her lawyer said.

Pakistan has tried to distance itself from the offer by one of its cabinet ministers to pay anyone who kills the maker of the anti-Islam film.

Pakistan said an offer by one of its ministers of US$100,000 for anyone who kills the maker of an anti-Islam film does not represent official policy.
