A former prisoner who sued the State over an incident in which he was slashed in the face and body in an unprovoked attack by an fellow inmate 10 years ago has been awarded €150,000 in damages.

A prisoner viciously attacked by another inmate at Wheatfield Prison has been awarded damages of €150,000.
