A clamper who was left brain-damaged when he was attacked with a hammer when he clamped a car has settled his High Court action for €2m.

A Clondalkin man who left a clamper with severe neurological damage after he struck his head with a lump hammer has been sentenced to 10 years with the final three suspended.

Three men were jailed by the Special Criminal Court in Dublin today after a major garda operation against the Continuity IRA led to the discovery of a bomb making operation near the border last year.
