Austrian authorities have rejected a compensation claim from a woman who was held captive for eight and a half years by a man who tormented her and locked her in a dungeon.

The Vienna public prosecutor’s office announced today that it had closed the case of the Austrian teenager who was abducted and held captive for more than eight years before she escaped in August.

The Austrian teen held in an underground cell for more than eight years went to a morgue to pay her last respects to her captor, police disclosed today.
