Breccia, a company linked to businessman Larry Goodman, has been granted judgment by the High Court for €7.89m, plus substantial legal costs, against Dr Joseph Sheehan, a co-founder of Dubin's Blackrock Clinic.

A judge has warned the two “main protagonists” in a long High Court battle for control of Dublin’s Blackrock Clinic that continuation of the “negative and destructive” litigation is neither in the interests of the hospital nor the parties.

A shareholder in Dublin’s Blackrock Clinic is entitled to an order that he need pay €16.9m, rather than nearly €20m, to redeem a loan he took out to invest in the facility, the Commercial Court ruled.
