Cork is on the up with €400m worth of tall building developments proposed for the city in the next few years, writes Kevin O’Neill

City business groups have backed the development of a skyscraper hotel in Cork's docklands, but concerns have also been raised about retaining access to the river.

The developers of the Prism Building in Cork say they expect to be on-site at the development before the end of the year.

Plans for a 34-storey Cork city centre hotel, which would become Ireland’s tallest tower and twice the height of the 17-storey Elysian building, are finally revealed today by New York-based Irish developers.
