A Cork man has been jailed for four years for sexually assaulting his former partner’s 13-year-old daughter while he babysat the girl.

Gardaí had no alternative but to chase down a man who died shortly after he was found running naked around a north Dublin suburb, an inquest heard yesterday.

An off-duty Garda has denied at an inquest that he was driving too fast when his car struck a pedestrian in a fatal road crash.
