A man with Asperger’s syndrome who assaulted his mother was sentenced to a four-month prison term after efforts to get him into a residential medical facility to deal with his issues were exhausted.

A man with Asperger’s syndrome was remanded in continuing custody yesterday in a case where he was accused of knocking his mother on the floor of a shop and kicking her in the head.
