Bus Éireann kindly stepped in to provide transport to bring Sanctuary runners from the Direct Provision centre in Kinsale Road in Cork to Patrick Street today for the city marathon.

There was an early start for runners of the Irish Examiner Cork City Marathon with a start time of 8.30am.

The Irish Examiner Cork City Marathon is upon us and marks the first time the event has taken place on a Sunday.
