A universal vaccine that offers protection against multiple flu strains could soon be within reach of scientists searching for the “Holy Grail” of immunology.

A “UNIVERSAL” flu vaccine that protects against many strains of the virus for decades may be only three years away.

The World Health Organisation removed Singapore from its map of SARS hot zones while researchers in the US said they may be able to develop a vaccine for the disease in three years.
