PRISON chiefs yesterday launched an inquiry into allegations that juveniles in detention were playing a violent car video game.

An 18-year-old who burgled a house with a number of other youths on the morning that two gardai were killed when their patrol car was rammed by joyriders has been given three years detention by Judge Michael White.

Hundreds of mourners gathered today for the funeral of Garda Michael Padden at Shanaghy Church on the Mullet peninsula in Belmullet, Co Mayo.
