A garda suffered a flying kick to the chest resulting in a heavy impact from an assailant’s metal prosthetic leg as he arrested the man for trying to assault his own girlfriend.

A woman who was almost three times the legal limit when she knocked down a mother of two, leaving her with a brain injury, has been jailed for three years.
