A 17-year-old boy, who was caught walking down a street swinging a nail studded baton as passers-by had to jump out of his way, has been remanded in custody pending sentence.

A teenage father of one, who is a recovering heroin addict and has spent the last four years involved in drug-fuelled petty thefts, has attained his 40th criminal conviction.

A Dublin youth has reached adulthood having acquired 84 convictions throughout his teenage years, which were dominated by cocaine addiction and drug-fuelled petty crimes.
