A motorist who was banned from driving because of three previous counts of having no insurance was caught again when she decided to drive to hospital for a medical appointment.

A district judge yesterday said he was tired of people carrying out public order offences on the streets of Cork as he sentenced a man to two months in jail for threatening behaviour towards gardaí.

AN intoxicated man who reversed his van into a patrol car on two separate occasions while being pursued by gardaí and who swung a hammer at them has been sentenced to two years in prison.
