A French company has been named as being at the centre of the horsemeat scandal while Britain has also been drawn.

The Prime Minister of Romania has today reacted angrily to the suggestion that horse meat found in processed meals could have come from his country.

EU shop prices for milk jumped 17% from mid-2007 to mid-2008, and have fallen back only 2% since – even though the milk price paid to farmers has halved.
