The team investigating the downing of a Malaysian Airlines jet in eastern Ukraine says criminal proceedings will be opened against four suspects.

On their son Bryce’s birthday this year, Silene Fredriksz-Hoogzand and her husband Rob went to a Dutch airbase, watched pall bearers solemnly unload seven coffins from a military cargo plane and wondered if they contained parts of the remains of Bryce or his girlfriend Daisy Oehlers.

The chief Dutch prosecutor overseeing the criminal investigation into the downing of Malaysia Airlines Flight 17 has said the plane being shot down from the ground is the “most likely” scenario.

Dutch authorities have identified 127 victims from the Malaysia Airlines Flight 17 disaster in Ukraine.
