IN OCTOBER 1988, a 24-year-old married father of one was forced to flee a North Cork village just months after he woke up to find that he had been undressed by a local priest who was attempting to rape him.

THE Cloyne Commission has said it is “very concerned” at the role of gardaí in three cases, including one where no investigation was carried out and another where a statement from a victim was left forgotten in a drawer.

A MAN was deemed to be entering priesthood for “the wrong reasons” and scored very highly on the psychosis scale, but then went on to be suspected of abusing children after spiking their drinks in three Cloyne parishes.
