Ahead of her visit to the Cork Opera House, singer/songwriter Eleanor McEvoy is enthusing about the city’s “exquisite” 19th century landmark cathedral, St Fin Barre’s, one of the most complete examples of French Neo-Gothic architecture in Western Europe. McEvoy’s concert is in aid of the continuance of St Fin Barre’s restoration.

CLOSE enough to Cork’s St Fin Barre’s Cathedral to hear the choirs, the former Verger’s House is going for something a bit more than a song.

WHERE Fin Barre taught let Munster earn could be the wry take on a new Section 50 development on College road, called Fuller’s Lodge.
