Waterways Ireland now believes the sighting is actually the native Irish otter.

THE west of Ireland could offer a long-term, safe haven for red squirrels, according to a new report published by the National Parks and Wildlife Service (NPWS).

RTE’s environment correspondent announced on Monday that the natterjack toad is “unique to Castlemaine” and more than 40 farmers have signed up to save the toad.
