A woman with schizophrenia who attacked a garda with a ten inch kitchen knife has been jailed for two years by Judge McDonagh at Dublin Circuit Criminal Court.

PRISON officers warned over a year ago that a pre-release female prison unit, from which two inmates escaped last Sunday, was “out of control”.
