The Government is aiming to create 2,500 jobs in a pilot scheme which will see employers being given cash payments of up to €10,000 for each worker they hire from the Live Register.

More than 1,600 people have applied for 250 jobs at a new smartphone call centre in the south-east.

Some 250 new positions are being created in Waterford through the expansion of Irish company Eishtec.
