A 23-YEAR-OLD Tipperary man has been jailed for 18 months for killing his father with a spade in a beating that he said was “a long time coming” and described as “pay-back time”.

The jury in the trial of a 23-year-old man charged with the murder of his father has been told that the law does not allow for "pay-back time".

A Tipperary woman has told a murder trial that she looked out her window one night last year and saw her neighbour beating his father with a shovel.
