The High Court has ruled today that Lord Magan, a member of the British House of Lords, is not entitled to a new tenancy of the €20m Castletown Cox mansion and 500-acre estate in Kilkenny which he had put in trust for the benefit of two of his three children, Edward Magan and Henrietta Black.

A British life peer in dispute with a trust over his occupation of one of Ireland's finest Georgian mansions is engaged in an "orchestrated and calculated strategy" to delay the completion of the sale of the property, the Commercial Court heard.

A legal action concerning the proposed sale of a mansion in Co. Kilkenny is not proceeding, the High Court has been told.
