Some of the new forces in Irish politics will hammer out their programmes this weekend for the looming general election.

A trial in which broadcaster Eamon Dumphy is a central witness has been adjourned until 2pm today at Dublin Circuit Criminal Court shortly after a jury was sworn in this morning.
