AN inexperienced Cork outfit coped successfully without the bulk of their All-Ireland winners as they breezed past the challenge of Waterford IT in yesterday’s McGrath Cup preliminary round tie in Páirc Ui Rinn.

THE Dr Harty Cup campaign began in dramatic fashion at New Inn yesterday where an injury-time point by Niall Arthur earned St Flannan’s a draw in a rousing contest.

ST FLANNAN’S caused one of the first shocks in this year’s Corn Uí Mhuirí at Newcastlewest yesterday where they saw off the challenge of Pobalscoil Chorca Dhuibhne in a keenly contested first-round tie.

TWO years ago Antrim came within two points of defeating Limerick in the All-Ireland MHC semi-final. Last year Galway were fortunate to survive against them by four points in a quarter-final.
