An 82-year-old former principal and priest yesterday denied 12 counts of indecently assaulting children at Colaiste Chroí Naofa school in Carrignavar around 40 years ago.

Gardaí arrested an 80-year-old man yesterday and charged him with indecently assaulting 14 children while serving as a Missionaries of Sacred Heart priest and he declared: “I am totally innocent of those charges.”

Three former teachers at a Cork boarding school have appeared in court charged with indecently assaulting a number of pupils at the school over a 20-year period.
