An Irish nanny has been remanded in custody in the US charged with murdering a one-year-old girl she was caring for, authorities have confirmed.

A blood-stained pillow, blanket and baby wipes were found in the bedroom of a one-year-old child who died after her Irish nanny allegedly assaulted her, according to court records.

An Irish nanny living in the US, who has been charged with violently assaulting a baby who later died, may yet face a murder charge, the district attorney’s office has said.
