An architect accused of murdering childcare worker Elaine O’Hara, whose remains were found in the Dublin mountains, has been granted free legal aid.

A successful architect and married father of two has been charged with the murder of childcare assistant Elaine O’Hara in Aug 2012.

A top detective said “I'm f***ed, I'm f***ed” when an unmarked Garda car he was driving crashed on the M50 motorway after he had spent hours in a pub, a court has heard.

A Detective Garda has gone on trial accused of dangerous driving and unauthorised taking of an unmarked Garda car which was involved in a collision in Dublin in 2010.
