Seventeen people are believed to have died when a boat full of villagers returning from a picnic capsized in India’s Ganges River today, a senior police officer said.

A 12-year-old boy was killed today and six members of his family injured in one of two bomb blasts in the Pakistan port city of Karachi, police said.
