South Africa wing Jean de Villiers has been banned for two weeks following a dangerous tackle in the team’s 31-17 defeat by New Zealand.

New Zealand coach Graham Henry claimed South Africa lock Bakkies Botha was lucky not to get banned for longer than nine weeks for headbutting halfback Jimmy Cowan in the All Blacks’ 32-12 Tri Nations triumph at Eden Park.

Lions prop Graham Rowntree was today cleared of foul play after a disciplinary hearing in Auckland.
