A man who fatally stabbed his housemate in the heart when they rowed about food during a drinking binge was jailed for five years.

A 38-year-old man has been cleared of murdering but convicted of killing his housemate, who had failed to bring home ribs from the butcher.

Family and friends of Thomas ‘Toddy’ Dooley, found dead at his Co Offaly home at the weekend, have described him as an “inoffensive” man who “wouldn’t hurt anybody”.
