An 8-year-old girl with dyskinetic cerebral palsy after her birth at a Cork hospital has settled her action against the HSE for €5.8m.

The HSE should apologise to a little girl who has been left with dyskinetic cerebral palsy after her birth at a Cork hospital, her counsel told the High Court yesterday.

DUBLIN lived up to its reputation for hosting the “friendly marathon” yesterday as a record entry of more than 11,700 runners took part in the annual race around the streets of the capital in a good-humoured event that was enjoyed by participants and spectators alike.
