A WEEK-OLD baby girl has been raped in South Africa, police said yesterday, making her the youngest victim in a spate of child rapes fuelled by the myth that sex with a virgin cures AIDS.

A South African was today convicted of raping a nine-month-old baby girl in a case that highlighted the country’s horrifically high levels of child abuse.
