A man who admits a cut-throat killing has told a jury that he does not know why he did it.

A man accused of a cut-throat killing could have taken sleeping tablets or painkillers along with alcohol before he kicked and then stabbed an older man to death in Inchicore four years ago.

A man accused of the murder of a 22 year-old Limerick man in 1999 today told a jury his “life has been hell” and described how he abused prescription drugs in the months prior to stabbing the deceased.
