American officials say Iraqi leaders will have to curb their enthusiasm for a quick trial of Saddam Hussein – and a possible summer execution.

Saddam Hussein could be tried “in the next few weeks” and faces execution if convicted, one Iraqi Governing Council member said today.

Saddam Hussein's capture has apparently been confirmed by Paul Bremer, the US official in charge of running post-war Iraq.
