Malaysian national car maker Proton has suspended the head of its loss-making British sports car maker Lotus.

Group Lotus chief executive Dany Bahar has dismissed claims the signing of Kimi Raikkonen was nothing more than a stunt to improve the team’s PR.

The long-running naming rights row surrounding the Lotus and Team Lotus brands has finally been resolved.

Team Lotus owner Tony Fernandes believes it is time for everybody involved in the naming-rights row to “grow up” and let the courts determine the outcome.
