THE closing night of the Cork Film Festival has always been a fitting finale to Ireland’s premier fiesta of film, but this year there was an extra buzz in the air.

The latest shorts commissioned under the OSCAILT short film scheme, jointly funded by Bord Scannán na hÉireann/the Irish Film Board and TG4, will premiere at the Cork Film Festival on Saturday.
