Gunmen have ambushed a United Nations peacekeeping team in Sudan’s western region of Darfur, killing seven and wounding another 17 in the deadliest ever single attack on the international force in the country.

Clashes in a refugee camp in Sudan’s violent Darfur region left six people dead, peacekeepers said, days after violence elsewhere in the area claimed the lives of at least 37 people.
