A man who lost an arm in a motorboat accident has called for the hero who saved his life to be honoured posthumously.

The RNLI celebrated the acquisition of two new inshore lifeboats from private donation, with naming ceremonies in Cork towns over the weekend.

Eoin Corkery lost his left hand and could easily have lost his life but for a series of speedy responses from those involved in his rescue on the evening of June 9, 2012.
