Former Ireland team manager Mick O’Callaghan insists he has no regrets about his stinging criticism of Rowing Ireland’s outgoing board at the weekend’s annual general meeting in Dublin.

They rowed every length, they heaved, they hunched over on their seats, and gritted their teeth...they even unleashed the famous Munster roar.

It was a day of narrow misses for the Irish crews at the World Rowing Championships, although Olympic qualification remains very attainable for three boats in France’s Lac d’Aiguebelette.
