Two men have been sentenced to two and a half years in prison in connection with attacks on two elderly men in Westmeath last year.

One of the two youths charged in connection with the robbery of a taxi driver in Athlone, Co Westmeath, earlier this week, has apologised for his actions.

Gardaí in Athlone are seeking the public's help in tracing a missing 16-year-old boy.
