Basketball stalwart Jimmy Diggins received a standing ovation when he was presented with Basketball Ireland President’s Award at the National Arena on Saturday.

A grandmother who was discharged from the Midland Regional Hospital when she allegedly still had a post operative infection died 10 days later at home, the High Court has heard.

Ria Molly Shelly, 11, had been growing her hair for two years after reading about The Rapunzel Foundation, a charity that collects real hair to make wigs for alopecia sufferers, when she was diagnosed with a rare form of leukaemia in May.
