ATTACKERS hacked to death scores of people who sought refuge at a Catholic church in remote eastern Congo the day after Christmas, officials and witnesses said yesterday.

A British aid worker has been ambushed and fatally shot by Ugandan rebels in southern Sudan, officials said today.

The Ugandan army has killed 21 rebels who took part in last weekend’s bloody raid on a refugee camp in northern Uganda that killed scores of civilians.
