Sri Lanka has slammed a United Nations report on the conclusion of the island's civil war, saying allegations against the government are "unsubstantiated and erroneous".

UN envoy Ibrahim Gambari arrived in Burma today for his second effort to reconcile the ruling military and its pro-democracy opponents.
