British gambling website operator BetOnSports plc has pleaded guilty in the United States to racketeering charges, prosecutors said.

The founder of the London-based BetOnSports gambling website, Stephen Kaplan, has been arrested in the Dominican Republic, according to a US prosecutor.

US government lawyers say they will continue prosecuting BetOnSports, even though the British-based internet gambling company is shutting down its operations that take bets from American customers.
