AFTER writing hundreds of letters to the Government and quitting her job, Caroline O’Dwyer has finally won her two-year battle for her children to attend a special language school.

FORMER Minister for Children Mary Hanafin has infuriated parents, teachers and school managers by claiming that the rise in application for special needs assistants in classrooms may be a sign that the system may have gone “out of control.”

A REFUSAL by the Department of Education to sanction special-needs assistants for a Kilkenny school has forced two children with a language disorder to stay at home.
