A rubbish collector and the head of security for Baghdad University were killed in separate drive-by shootings today as a string of attacks left at least seven people dead in the Iraqi capital.

Five roadside bombs and two suicide car bombs exploded one after another in Baghdad today, killing a total of 12 Iraqis and wounding 37, police said.

Two Iraqi journalists were found dead south of Baghdad today a day after they were stopped by men wearing police uniforms, the manager of their television station said.
