In light of the violent gun attack in the Greektown neighbourhood of their city the Toronto Film Festival’s CEO Piers Handling and artistic director Cameron Bailey announced this year’s first films today with little fanfare.

SPEAKING on the phone from Toronto, Cameron Bailey, co-director of The Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF), admits he is managing four to five hours sleep a night as the festival approaches.

Six movies and a raft of top Irish stars will highlight the best in homegrown talent at one of the world’s most prestigious film festivals, it was revealed today.
